Fly
fishing Chile based in Coyhaique.
Coyhaique
is situated at the center of the largest river drainage
in the eleventh region of Chile, covering a total of 4,500 square
miles.
Several
years of exploration in this area has revealed some fantastic
new waters for our guests.
The Lodging
for this fly fishing program is based using a charming local hotel
located within the town of Coyhaique in the heart of Patagonia
in Chile.
This privileged
location allows our guests to enjoy many great rivers such as
the Simpson, Paloma, Ñireguao, Huemules, Blanco, and Emperador
Guillermo.
Additionally,
there are several remote and lesser known but equally spectacular
streams, spring creeks and more than a dozen smaller lakes.
Pristine,
clear streams offer varied fly fishing, fantastic dry fly action,
and challenging sight fishing in both streams and still water.
We prioritize
dry fly fishing, but when surface action is slow, streamers and
nymphs are very productive.
The great
quantity of fly fishing waters available in the Coyhaique area
will provide our guests with a variety of quality fishing.
For the past 15 years our company, Rios Azules,
has explored remote corners of Chile in search of superior fly
fishing destinations.
As a result, we have previously pioneered three
other unique fly fishing locations in Chile:
Estancia de Los
Rios lodge
Rivers of the
Chilean Fjords
Fundo El Salto
Lodge
The town of
Coyhaique is located in the Aysen region of Chile, approximately
800 miles south of Chile’s capital Santiago, by the Eastern
slope of the Southern Andes. With only 42,000 inhabitants and
a total of 85,000 for the entire Aysen region, it boasts one of
the lowest population densities in the Chile ,thus quality fly
fishing for many years to come. |
