Andes Journeys is led by Cristian Dufflocq and his wife Anne-Marie Williams, two lifelong experts in fly fishing in Chile and Patagonia. Cristian grew up immersed in Chile’s fly-fishing tradition. His father, Adrián Dufflocq, founded Cumilahue in 1964—the first dedicated fly-fishing lodge in Chile. From an early age, Cristian guided anglers on the rivers and lakes of southern Chile, rowing boats for legendary names such as Ernest Schwiebert, Ernest Hemingway’s sons Jack and Patrick Hemingway, and bamboo-rod master Hoagy Carmichael Jr. This upbringing gave him deep, first-hand knowledge of Chile’s waters, fishing culture, and remote Patagonia ecosystems.

Cristian and his brother Marcelo spent decades exploring Chile’s Lake District and Patagonia in search of exceptional rivers, spring creeks, and backcountry fisheries. Their work eventually led to the creation of Estancia de los Ríos, one of the most remote private fishing lodges in Patagonia, where Cristian guided anglers into the untouched headwaters of the Cisnes River and the fjord systems of southern Chile.

Anne-Marie also brings a lifelong connection to Chilean hospitality and wilderness travel. Her parents founded Fundo El Salto Lodge in the Lake District in 1986, where she worked each season and learned the operational foundations of a successful lodge. When she and Cristian later managed the lodge together, she built the service standards and guest-care structure that continue to guide Andes Journeys today.

In 2008, Cristian and Anne-Marie relocated to the United States, bringing with them more than 30 years of experience in fly fishing, Patagonia travel, and lodge operations. They founded Andes Journeys to help travelers from the U.S. and Europe plan exceptional, tailor-made trips to Chile, Argentina, and Now to other remote parts of the world— Allways with a special focus on fly-fishing programs, private-access lodges, national parks, wine regions, and cultural travel.
